Don't Let Hand Pain Keep You from Flossing

I am proud to say that I have all my own teeth at the age of 65. While that may not sound unusual to some people, everyone in my family who is my age or older wears dentures. I always tell people that that flossing is the key to good dental health. I have arthritis in my hands, but I don't let it keep me from flossing every day. My trick is to use those little "flossers" you can buy at the drug store. They have plastic handles floss stretched out on top of the handle. These make flossing easier on days when my arthritis is acting up. I started this blog to let other people know that they can keep their teeth healthy into old age when they take care of them. If you have hand pain, find ways to make flossing easier, like I did.

But just as with traditional braces, there are a few things you should be sure your teenager is aware of.

Colds stink, but sometimes you just have to deal with them. It can be tempting to pass on the tooth care during this time, partly (and understandably) because you just want to stay in bed and rest, but also because the idea of sticking a toothbrush into your mouth, which has seen more than its share of coughs, isn't very appealing. You should still take care of your teeth, and here's what to do as you get through that awful cold.

  • Can Your Clear Braces Stain?

    25 August 2017

Clear braces are designed to be less noticeable to others. Although they are most of the time, staining can sometimes occur that makes the braces more noticeable. If you are wearing clear braces, here is what you need to know about staining. What Causes Staining? Although staining can occur, it does not easily occur. Advances in dental technology have led to the braces being more stain resistant. However, some parts of the braces, such as the elastic ligatures, can stain.

    13 July 2017

The variety of dental procedures that a patient may need to undergo can be rather overwhelming and bewildering to dental patients. As a result of this, making reasonable and informed dental health care needs can be remarkably challenging. This is particularly true for those that are needing to undergo major procedures, such as root canals. Why Would A Root Canal Treatment Be Needed? Individuals are often very uncertain about the conditions that a root canal can be used to treat.
